Contemplative Practices for 21st Century Higher Education

Call for Papers

We invite contributions on contemplative practices within a university setting in the following areas (but not limited to):

  • Educational pedagogy in higher education
  • Research in science, technology, arts and humanities
  • Leadership and business, particularly within university administrations
  • Health and wellness
  • The environment and sustainability
  • Student residential communities
  • Student life

We invite papers, panel sessions, interactive sessions, and posters.

Paper Presentations

A paper presentation will address a topic related to the inclusion of a contemplative practice within or related to higher education. Authors are encouraged to consider inclusion of practices that engage the audience.

Panel Sessions

A panel session consisting of 3 or more panelists will address a topic related to the inclusion of a contemplative practice within or related to higher education.

Interactive Sessions

An interactive session is designed to engage the audience directly in a contemplative practice used in higher education with which the author(s) has experience.

Papers/panel sessions/interactive sessions will be 45 minutes in length.

Poster Session

A poster session will be available for those who want to summarize their work.

Post-Conference Proceeding

A post-conference proceeding will contain work from the conference. Please consider submitting your work for publication to further the conversation.

Special Rate for Student Presenters

Students who are chosen to present will receive a special Saturday conference rate of $25 (which covers the registration fee). If chosen, you will receive an email with a special discount code and instructions on how to register with the code at the reduced rate. 

All applicants will be notified of Acceptance by Friday, February 24, 2017. If your presentation is not accepted, this still allows you time to register for the conference at the Early-Bird Rate (which ends Friday, March 3, 2017).
